What is the MIP process aka? ›

The Sorority's undergraduate Membership Intake Process (MIP) begins when an Official Acceptance Letter is received. THERE WILL BE NO MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES BETWEEN RUSH AND RECEIPT OF THIS OFFICIAL LETTER. MIP activities in the name of the Sorority prior to Rush are prohibited.

Alpha Kappa Alpha's official graduate Membership Intake Process (MIP) is by invitation only. It begins with a Letter of Invitation from a graduate chapter of the sorority and attendance at the Information Session.

Completion of a baccalaureate degree, with at least a C+ cumulative average, or a graduate or professional degree (Ph. D., M.D., J.D., etc.) from an accredited college or university. C+ is equivalent to a 2.50 on a 4.0 scale if the school does not have a plus or minus on the grading scale.

Begin the official Membership Intake Process (MiP).

You'll start this process when you receive a Letter of Acceptance after Rush. There are no membership activities between Rush and receiving an acceptance letter, and participating in prohibited events during this time could impact potential membership.

What do you wear to an AKA chapter meeting? ›

Business attire is required for all chapter meetings, unless otherwise noted. All white dresses or skirt suits requested for January chapter meetings.

Bring a government-issue photo ID and proof of membership (current or past financial card, membership certificate, Ivy Leaf magazine, letter from past chapter Basileus on chapter letterhead, completed and signed Transfer Verification Form or letter from AKA Corporate Office). Non-members are not allowed.

Membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is generally classified as undergraduate or graduate. In both classifications: Prospective members must have high ethical and moral standards; Membership can only be obtained by completing the Sorority's official Membership Intake Process (MIP);
