S11 (11.1) Poseidon Builds for Multiple Roles (Mid & Jungle & Carry)(Updated February 2024) (2024)

If this is conquest, why are you going with 40% CDR in your builds when Potion of Magical Might exists? Or is it because you're replacing boots with another item due to Elixir of Speed?

Anyway,

Before we start Im just going to mention you've only listed Purification Beads and not Aegis Amulet for your mid and adc builds.

Another thing is that, you haven't mentioned on your threats for Thoth that if he's caught in your Whirlpool he's crippled and therefore cannot use Evade and Punish.

Onto mid builds:

I have to disagree that your start is "solid". There really is no reason to have wards that early at level 1, and if you're wary of an early speed buff invade all you have to do is watch the jungle (literally, I do it every game due to PTSD). Get 2 Healing Potions and 2 Mana Potions (or 2 Multi Potions) instead.

Shaman's Ring would preferably be built a bit earlier, before soul gem, as the Rings are quite effective on Poseidon (even an all ring build could work), especially Shaman's Ring.

First build "CDR & High Movement hybrid build" , Doom Orb is beneficial for Poseidon but im not sure it's really the best choice considering the price, especially when you could just go into something like Telkhines Ring. I guess since the rest of your build isn't that expensive, save for Chronos' Pendant and Gem of Isolation, you can afford to fit it in. But with Speed Elixir and Shaman's Ring I would advise something else instead, like Rod of Tahuti or Soul Reaver.

As for "Movement & Burst Hybrid" build, im not quite sure what you're going for here. Your only pen item is magus, which requires several ticks of Whirlpool to reach max stacks at which point Ethereal Staff and Soul Reaver do the most damage, but the problem with this is that those 2 items proc upon the first instance of damage, so if you're saving the burst from those two items, as well as the Soul Gem burst proc, for something like a well placed Release The Kraken! then you're only getting the 10 base pen from Spear of the Magus to those item damage procs UNLESS you catch the enemies with Whirlpool beforehand and they take several ticks of damage to proc the Spear of the Magus stacks.

What I am saying is you might want to swap Ethereal Staff or Doom Orb or Chronos' Pendant for something with some flat pen on it, like Spear of Desolation.

Alternatively, if you want the burst build to kill tanks you could go for something like (assuming lategame, speed pot, and no boots): Soul Reaver, Spear of Desolation, Obsidian Shard, Divine Ruin, Shaman's Ring, Ethereal Staff/ Gem of Isolation as a lategame, no boots build. You would get Deso as a replacement to the boots, and obsidian as a replacement to Magus.

Basically, it would be good to see more situational items listed, especially Divine Ruin (it's a sin that you did not include this item) along with others like: Rod of Tahuti, Obsidian Shard, Shoes of the Magi, Telkhines Ring, Hastened Ring, Demonic Grip, Spear of Desolation, Magi's Cloak, Winged Blade, Mantle of Discord, Dynasty Plate Helm, perhaps Void Stone.

Onto ADC builds:

I really am not sure about Chronos' Pendant and Doom Orb, especially Doom Orb that early considering it's price. It's just too expensive. I would replace Chronos' Pendant with Bancroft's Talon instead as you're going an AA-based build.

Here's how I would Start: Hunter's Blessing, Tiny Trinket, 2 Healing Potions and 2 Mana Potions or 2 Multi Potions.

Build: Shoes of the Magi/ Shoes of Focus (if CDR boots then get Magus before Shaman's Ring), Bancroft's Talon, Hastened Ring, Shaman's Ring, Spear of the Magus, Telkhines Ring, Rod of Tahuti. Sell boots lategame for Chronos' Pendant.

Alternatively, you could do a build where you skip boots. start: Hunter's Blessing, Emerald Ring, 2 Healing Potions and 1 Mana Potion or 1 Multi Potion.

Build: Demonic Grip (Demonic first because it's cheap, though you can go Shaman's first too), Shaman's Ring, Hastened Ring, Spear of the Magus, Telkhines Ring and then last item go with somethine like a Bancroft's Talon or Rod of Tahuti and lategame when you have Elixir of Speed sell boots for a pen item like Spear of Desolation or Obsidian Shard or get Chronos' Pendant.

For "AA Base Build late game" and "Hybrid Build Late Game" I just don't know what you're trying here, yes you can perhaps get some Poly procs off with Whirlpool crippling targets, but considering you don't have that much high power in the build and you're not building Book of Thoth or even Gem of Isolation I think it's ill-advised to get Polynomicon and Soul Gem together, as they both benefit from high power in the build and especially Polynomicon considered that in AA-builds unless you can proc it very easily/often (like Freya banish, auto attack as they fall down, or Chronos stun into poly basic attack) you shouldn't really be building it.

Onto Jungle builds:

Starter, you should really go for Lost Artifact instead of Shoes for the better clear.

As for "Mid Game (w/ boots & blessing)", you're making that same mistake as before and you're building two expensive luxury items in a row, especially the very expensive Doom Orb, and you're only getting pen by your fourth item.

You should ideally decide if you want to prioritise Shaman's Ring or Chronos' Pendant and then ditch Doom Orb from the build. It's not an early or mid game item.

Start: Assassin's Blessing, Lost Artifact or Emerald Ring, potions.

Build 1: Shoes of the Magi, Chronos' Pendant, Spear of the Magus, Shaman's Ring, Telkhines Ring, situational (damage item or defense, e.g. Rod of Tahuti).

Build 2: Shoes of Focus, Shaman's Ring, Spear of the Magus, Telkhines Ring, Spear of Desolation, Gem of Isolation.

As for the lategame no boots builds see my discussion on your Mid lategame no boots builds.
