On 22nd July 2022, YouTube creator Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins received his first community guidelines strike on the platform. This came after an inappropriate and not family-friendly stream, where the YouTuber received 'head' from his Minecraft girlfriend Jenny, a custom mob mod.

For those unaccustomed to iShowSpeed's antics, he’s known for his erratic sense of humor and pumped-up personality. However, sometimes his stunts can go a little too far. For example, iShowSpeed was banned by Riot Games for sexist remarks in Valorant. Now he's skating on thin ice with YouTube after streaming indecent content to nearly 100,000 (mostly underage) viewers.

YouTube Bans iShowSpeed After Obscene Minecraft Mishap

While iShowSpeed only showed parts of the act, it was enough for YouTube to slam him with a temporary ban for violating its community guidelines. As mentioned earlier, this is iShowSpeed's first strike on the platform, meaning he won’t be able to stream for a week, and the infringing content has been removed.

Following his temporary ban, iShowSpeed posted a video on his second YouTube channel stating that he’ll be gone for a while and possibly leave the platform. Unsure to fans if the remarks were another set of jokes or an honest confession to end his streaming career on YouTube, the streamer did make one thing apparent: he’s not happy.

In the video, iShowSpeed expressed how saddening it was for him to receive the strike. “The thing popped up, and I didn’t even know the thing would pop up, so now they gave me a strike, man.” Later in the video, iShowSpeed said he's “going off YouTube” because of the strike and recent controversy.

The YouTube streamer bid farewell to his fans and expressed how disappointing it was that he wouldn't be able to share the moment he reached 10 million followers with his fans. The streamer concluded the video by saying, “I don’t know when I’ll be back. I don’t know if I will be back. I don’t know if you all will ever see me again. You probably will never see me again.”

Although iShowSpeed said that “he’s banned," this is not entirely true. According to YouTube's community guidelines, iShowSpeed is only temporarily suspended from streaming on YouTube, and his channel is still accessible to his audiences. It's also still possible for him to upload on-demand video content, so he'll likely still reach 10 million subscribers regardless.

iShowSpeed Claims Jake Lucky Has A Vendetta Against Him

Internet reporter Jake Lucky, who initially brought the controversy to the limelight, engaged in an online back-and-forth with the streamer, saying Jake had a problem with him. iShowSpeed purportedly claims Jake provoked YouTube to issue the strike and stated the only reason he brought it to light was for "views."

bro what is your problem like seriously

However, in a witty clap-back, Jake responded, "I’m not sorry for sharing the Speed clip, I would’ve done it for any streamer, and I have in the past. I’m sorry I didn’t censor it to my audience."

I’m not sorry for sharing the Speed clip, I would’ve done it for any streamer and I have in the past. I’m sorry I didn’t censor it to my audience. I’m sorry that I’m now somehow a racist and my family is getting threats.

Plz keep the hate directed at me and me alone.

Although Jake did the right thing throughout the heated controversy, he's subsequently been labeled a racist by iShowSpeed fans, and his family has received death threats. We will endeavor to provide further updates as the situation evolves.
